Press Notice: Y13 A-Level Results August 2019

Tuesday, 20 August 2019

KGGS reported another excellent year for results at A-level with just over 62% of all grades being awarded at A*/B. Year 13 students have achieved a 99.6% pass rate overall at A-level, with 30% of all subject passes being awarded at the top 2 grades.

Headteacher Mr David Scott was delighted for the students. He commented: "It has again been a busy year for students and staff who have worked tremendously hard together. There has been a great deal of attention given to these new, more challenging A-Levels, some of which have been assessed for the first time this year. Given that the government’s intention was to raise the national standards, particularly at the higher grades, I am particularly pleased to report that KGGS students have risen to this challenge. Our students' results are richly deserved and I am particularly pleased that at this early stage it appears that the vast majority of our Y13 students have achieved the grades they need to gain access to a wide range of courses at Higher Education establishments around the country. This is a time to celebrate the efforts and achievements of all of our students."

There were a number of outstanding individual performances at KGGS with an impressive 18 students achieving at least 3 A*/A grades, 3 of whom achieved 4 A*/A grades.
