Your child’s Men ACWY and Teenage Booster vaccinations are now due

MenACWY vaccination helps to protect your child against four types of meningococcal bacteria (groups A, C, W and Y) that can cause meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain) and septicaemia (blood poisoning). These diseases are very serious and can kill, especially if not diagnosed early. If you would like more details, please visit, where you can find information about the disease and the vaccine, as well as links to other useful websites.

The teenage booster, also known as the 3-in-1 or the Td/IPV vaccine, is given as a single injection into the upper arm to boost your child's protection against three separate diseases: tetanus, diphtheria and polio. For further information go to This web link gives full details and also describes the contents of the vaccine and any expected side effects that may occur afterwards. The two vaccinations are given together, one in each arm
