KGGS Named as One of the Top Schools in the East Midlands Region

Tuesday, 27 November 2018

Following the recent publication of the Sunday Times "Parent Power” Secondary Schools’ league tables in which Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School was placed 2nd in the East Midlands region, Headteacher Mr David Scott said that he was immensely proud of the students and staff at the school and was pleased that their outstanding efforts and achievements had been publicly recognised.

He added that, "Although these league tables only give a snapshot of the effectiveness of schools, it is interesting to see how we are performing against other selective schools in the region. The Sunday Times table is the only one which combines both A Level and GCSE performance together and so it provides a unique view. If there are going to be such league tables, then obviously I want KGGS to appear at or near the top. Anything that puts positive news about Grantham in the minds of the wider public must be good for the town. The whole point of the Sunday Times publication is to help parents when they are choosing schools, and maybe even which town to live in. Even more importantly for me, this news shows our current students, particularly those in Y11 and Y13, that if they continue working with us as they approach their GCSE and A Level exams they should be in a position to achieve some of the best results in the East Midlands region.”
