GCSE Results - August 2017

KGGS reported another very good year for results at GCSE with 53% of all subject passes being awarded the top grades, which this year means A*/A or 7/8/9 in Maths & English. This is the statistic that the national press will use to compare the success levels of selective schools.
Over 99% of all students achieved at least 5 A*/C passes and 58% achieved at least 5 A*/A or equivalent passes this year.

Headteacher Mr Scott was delighted for the Y11 students at KGGS. He commented, "Our staff and students have worked extremely hard throughout the year and parents have been very supportive. Studentsí results are richly deserved and I am particularly pleased that they have coped well with the additional pressures caused by some uncertainty in the national press over the new GCSEs in English & Maths. They are a resilient group and they have achieved their academic success whilst still contributing to their wider school community."

There were a large number of outstanding individual performances at KGGS with an impressive 42 students achieving at least 10 A*/A grades, 13 of whom achieved an amazing 12A*/A.

A special mention should go to Aiswarya Lakshmi, Sally Enstone, Francesca Filby and Ellen Hill who each achieved three grade nines in the new GCSEs in Maths, English and English Literature. This feat was achieved by only about 0.3% of the 560 000 Year 11 students taking these new exams throughout the country.
