Musical talent can find an outlet in a variety of extra-curricular activities. The school has choirs, instrumental groups, a wind band and a full orchestra. Many performances and recitals by individuals and groups are given throughout the year, including at least two major concerts.
The school is well supported by the Peripatetic Music Service, offering lessons in a wide range of instruments in school, and many students enjoy participating in county groups.
The House Choir contest is held in school at Easter and is always an incredible display of the creativity and organisation of our girls.
Interest in drama and the theatre is encouraged through the organisation of a wide range of theatre visits and the use of Theatre in Education groups. Those who wish to participate in performance also have the opportunity to join after school Drama Clubs, be involved in the school's annual production, or offer items for variety shows.
The Christmas holiday is always marked with the House Pantomime competition, with the six Houses putting on a remarkable variety of performances.
The school organises a trip with Acorn Adventure to the Ardèche gorge in Southern France towards the end of the academic year, taking a group of girls for a week of camping and outdoor activities including kayaking, caving, climbing, abseiling, archery and loads more.
